Wise Owl

All day someone, or more accurately something, has been watching over us. This new OWL energy monitor has been a real eye opener – most people know that tumble driers take a lot of energy, but it’s shown that our power shower is really energy hungry. It has the effect of making you feel guilty – before you know it, you can be sat in the dark watching the monitor to see how low it gets!

Today’s photo was about to show this guilt monitor, sorry energy monitor, with its reading of 0.210 units. But the photo was too dark so I turned the main light on. Of course, as I re-posed the photo, the reading shot up to the reading you can see. So we know it works on both counts. Number one, the electricity reading goes up as more things are switched on. Number two, the guilt kicks in instantly, and as I type the light has been instantly turned off again!
