Careful what you pack …
Today, finally, the buyers’ solicitors woke from their slumber. I now have a contract, so finally we are close to exchange and eventual completion.
The photo is from the drive home, and this was the closest I dared come to the truck in front and its rather haphazardly packed cargo, until with some relief I was able to overtake. I hope when the time comes, which is getting sooner now, I will be packed a little more securely than this!

Reduce Speed Now
Another week starts, another day punctuated only by a long commute, a day at work and another long commute in the opposite direction. Today’s commute picture was on the way home, when white cotton wool clouds stood out in the clear blue sky. If I was more awake or could remember some of the earlier courses of my degree more clearly I could tell you if they were cirrus, nimbus, cumulonimbus, or (d) none of the above. But the real reason I reached for the phone was because it felt like I was driving into an episode of the Simpsons …

The long road ahead – near Evesham, Worcestershire

This photo taken on the depressingly long commute to work, currently standing at about 42 miles. I’m not sure it shows quite how cold it was – the temperature gauge in my car showed -5°C and all the surrounding grass and air was cold, shimmering and white.
